The energy assets face significant challenges, including limited flexibility, grid congestion, and inadequate long-distance transmission infrastructure. Renewable energy curtailment reached 12 TWh in 2023 and is projected to grow, while congestion costs in Europe could rise to €10 billion annually by 2030. Aging infrastructure, lack of real-time visibility, and rising operation and maintenance costs further strain the system, leading to inefficiencies, power outages, and financial losses. Modernizing the energy assets and implementing intelligent energy management are critical to ensuring stability, reducing curtailment, and optimizing costs.
