In traditional storage batteries architectures, a battery stores energy to restore it in direct current, requiring the use of an inverter and a charger (a “power converter”) in order to connect the battery to the electrical distribution network in alternating current. The power converter directly influences the performance, reliability and overall efficiency of the energy storage system. Moreover, battery performance depends on the performance of the weakest cell.
